We are installers of decorative concrete finishes. It is our goal to astound our customers with the quality outcome of each project. We accept tips, but a few Ooohs and Aaahs are acceptable as well. We attempt to set ourselves apart from "Stamped Concrete" contractors. We look at each project as an opportunity to expand our capabilities as decorative concrete artisans. We promise to make your project unique. I will be upfront that this level of craftsmanship and service does present a higher cost to you. However, we find that our customers do not mind paying a little extra to ensure a nice outcome. There are plenty of "flash in a pan" stamped concrete guys around. They charge less, and their work reflects it. It is unfortunate for the decorative concrete industry that these operators exist...and frustrating for many homeowners as well. They are cheap because their credo is "bid and bill", as if that is all they are concerned about. They use inferior sub-grade if any, weaker concrete mix, colorants that will fade, stamps that are not realistic, and poor performing sealers. All these things allow them to bid cheaper. We lose bids quite often to these guys. The irony is, a few years later we are often called to see if we can fix their stamped concrete that is now fading, chipped, discolored, not to mention sloppy work to begin with. I certainly wouldn't have dared to pass it off as decorative in the first place. If you are reading this, you probably have seen what I am talking about. And to let you know, we can make it look better, but at a cost, and far from the standard we would accept. Click here for an example. You should also know that we can decorate your existing concrete without pouring a new slab by doing a concrete overlay. You may not have seen or heard about concrete overlays before. It is an emerging industry, using technology that has made all this possible only within the past decade. While installation is not entirely complex, it requires in depth product knowledge and honed skills to correctly install. For this reason, it is not a do-it-yourself project, hence no public exposure from the home centers (Lowes, Home Depot, etc) and not seen on the do it yourself shows on television. And also why you may not have heard about them before. Sometimes, we will incorporate an overlay into a stamped concrete project simply because we have more decorative capabilities with overlay material. Our material of choice is Elite Crete Systems (www.elitecrete.com). Elite Crete is an advanced polymer modified cementitous material that is applied over existing concrete surfaces. It can also be used over wood substrate in interior applications. Elite Crete systems is the overwhelming industry leader for cementitous overlays suitable for freeze/thaw climates. I was careful in selecting my products to use on your home or place of business. There are other overlay companies out there, though few do business in Michigan. Overlays are popular in the south, where the climate does not subject concrete to the same harsh conditions in Michigan. These other companies use an acrylic modified cement, that just doesn't have the same durability as polymer modified cements for freeze/thaw conditions. Elite Crete is the answer. You don't have to look far to see how salt and freeze/thaw conditions affect concrete. Elite Crete can change that. Almost everyone has concrete. Let us change the paradigm of what concrete is, rather what it should be...Something that can complement and add beauty to your home. Call me today and I will be happy to discuss your options.
